Many of you new owners and older ones will want to change to. The a BAK be it Baron or Patrick . People for last year I have been using T Brain air box mod. This simple mod works. Has shown to improve HP and TQ on Dyno . My Butt Dyno say it works To day I installed a K&N filter (been running factory ) and felt even more improvement. I like be cause you retain the stock air box but increase the flow of air . You have nothing to change. To install just remove the air box lid and add the kit to lid and reinstall . On raider the tank remains as delivered On road liner tank needs raised slightly. (Those spacers come with kit for that bike) Less than 70 bucks for the kit. Add a K&N and you still way under the price of BAK . I always use the KISS idea when building a street bike. If was a all out drag bike I might look at other kits But for street and general use This works best for me. Think about it If you are looking to change. You can get on e bay Search Tbrain air box mod. and you will find it Like I said mine been on a year now and I wouldn't trade it for one of those others . I like all my factory hoses and sensors in place as factory designed. No sucking noise going down hi way but more HP and TQ. Just my 02 from a happy owner

I have this mod , Cobra pro tuner, and Yamaha drag pipes. Can fry my avon 240 with a 1st to 2nd full power shift. I now speed shift to 2nd to reduce wheel spin.

No dyno near where I live so I can't give numbers. Just my 02

:agree: Just installed it last weekend - very impressed with the simple engineering and quality construction. Running the Freedom Performance Sharp Curve Radius and Cobra PowerPro - performance appears to be excellent with the stock filter, will be changing to K&N panel when time to replace. I hope to have it dyno'd in the next couple of weeks to post some real world numbers. Photos on our Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/pages/Raider-Performance/104799669565189

Iam glad to see others trying it out. I was one of the 1st Raider owners to try. Most of sales have been to the bagger crowd I understand . Yamaha engineers spent a lot of time developing the box . It works very well But they are limited because of government regs. EPA and others on how far they can go. So a small change can make a good improvement . On my Hayabusa their were 4 velocity stacks in air box 2 long and 2 short . You could spend over 200 bucks for longer metal stacks Or get near same results buying 2 longer stacks to replace the short ones at dealer for about 20 bucks.
On my Gen 1 Busa Their was a common air box mod that improved performance at sizeable loss of low end power and TQ on street. I bought a air box off e bay and tried a different approach. Lost none of the low end and got nearly same improvement ET wise. I tried to convince people for 2 years on net. That my mod took at most hour to do with hand tools About 1/2 that with a dermal tool. No one would listen They all use other mod. Because came from well known Busa performance place. But even they warned was not really good for daily street use. .
This mod is the same way simple to install gives good results at low price. But T Brain isn't a large well know company Like Barons or Patrick. So he must not know anything. Yet I have not heard from one person who tried his mod . That was unhappy with it.

Just remember sometimes your buying more name than performance . By way you can assemble a Baron type BAK kit you self at auto parts store for about a 100 bucks With a little research . If you still want to go that way.
I not trying to cause any trouble But Iam retired on a fixed income I started dragracing in 1962 and over years I have learned many things that work on race track suck on street and all that you are promise in ads . Are not always same results you get when you buy. Performance improvement of a daily driver is a lot different build than a strip car only. So study and spend your $$$$ carefully
Raider is a great bike from factory You can improve performance with 3 things Pipes, controller and air . People who ride the so called American V twin will spend more $$$ than we will . Just to get close to HP and TQ we start at. My daughter's boyfriend has spent $3000 on S&S parts. On his older HD and I still leave him like he has a anchor draging behind him. .

This kinda of a warning . Those small allen head bolds on our bikes are soft(at least mine are) I am using good name brand tools and correct size and in last year. I have rounded out 3 of them . That why I had dealer install my K&N. I did 3 rd one removing the tank . My dealer tells me they see a lot of this and are getting very good at removing them. I think they look nice But I would trade nice looking for good socket headed bolts.
The larger one on fender struts don't seem to be effected Its the little ones .
