synthetic or oil

I'm going to be changing my oils this weekend,
don't no if if i should use synthetic or the oil they recommend.
anybody have any suggestions

I would wait until you have about 1500 miles before putting synth oil in.

The motoman recommends this also and I have followed his process with all my past and present bikes.

Yes I would definatley recommend waiting on the synthetic. Stick with the dino for at least 1500 miles as the motoman suggests.

Any JASO MA (motorcycle clutch and slipperiness tested) rated 20W-50 would meet Yamaha's specs...replace the filter too as when it plugs with debris the bypass valve opens and no filtering occurs...get the break-in metal shine out of your oil early and often as it can imbed in the piston skirts and clutch plates.
