There appears to be a problem with either the Throttle Position Sensor or the High Idle Sensor. The problem occurred the other day, I was pulling up to a stop sign and the bike died. I restarted the bike and the check engine light came on. I rode the bike to the dealership and they where aware of the problem and suggest I drop off the motorcycle as soon as possible. So - my bike idles high and the fix should be an easy, they have to reprogram the computer to fix the problem.....

When you dropped off your bike, did the dealer say that the problem was very common or just random? Just curious as to whether I should take my back and have it checked.

Just spoke with Yamaha, and the rep over there said that they haven't heard any news saying this is a common problem.

In reality, it just means that it's not a widespread problem, or something they're aware enough yet to issue a service memo/recall.

IMHO, if you're concerned, there's nothing wrong with asking your dealer to check it out, especially since they've got the techs on staff.

I checked the US Gov site for recall information and none has been posted for any Yamaha product for 08.

Well I'm an idiot - When I picked up my bike from the shop (600 mile service), the tech told me what caused the problem. The problem was me - I power washed the bike an blew off a vaccum hose...So the error code was caused by me...so if you power wash the bike double check your hoses....

when you power wash your bike try not to get close to the wheel hubs or bearings on your triple tree and other stuff like that because that pressure can push water into those seals and bearings and cause premature wear ;)

Hello everyone of my fellow Raider Riders, I got one of the very first Raiders to hit Jacksonville, Fl and Im very happy so far. I recently received my Quick release back rest and It was kind of tricky to put on due to the release wasnt wide enough for the attach point on the rear pins so I had to pry it on with a flat tip and it fits good but it is so hard to remove and the keys bend, but I guess thats the price you pay for the first of everything, it will all work out Im so impressed with this bike that the quick release problem dont bother me because Im not intending to remove it anytime soon. Great job.

Just FYI you will notice no code 39. Thats when your PClll craps out and your bike runs on one cyl. Thats what i got with a bad PClll. 39:disgruntal_sign:
