240 tire on stock rim

I ordered a new 240 avon cobra rear tire yesterday for my 2012 raider. I've seen one post on another site about possible rubbing issues on the lower belt guard. Has anybody experienced this with the stock rim? They mentioned trimming the lower plastic guard a little to clear the extra width. It doesn't seem like a big deal but I just want to give my mechanic a heads up just in case. Like I said, I've only seen 1 person mention it.
My bike has stock suspension. (is not lowered)
Any input would be greatly appreciated!

There's a lot of Raiders out there running a 240 rear without that issue. You should be OK.

I have the Cobra 240 on the stock rim with no issues

I also have a 240 on the stock rim with no issues, planning to lower the bike with low and mean slamming kit in the near future, there is still plenty of space.
