Default Rear back rest quick release rattle

I have a 2008 Raider S and i love it. One thing that bugs the you know what out of me is that the quick release for the rear back rest rattles. I have checked torque on all hardware and everything is good and tight. It seems to be coming from the rollers that the locking hooks go around. Any suggestions on how to get rid of rattle?
Thanks for any and all suggestions

Mine does that too. I've been wondering if I could fit some rubber washers in there but haven't gotten around to fiddling with it yet.

I use electrical tape on the rollers. I may try the washers for a tighter fit. Thanks Don for the tip.

I tried putting some rubber seals, actually a rubber drain plug seal,it did'nt help very much. There is a thin line between how thick you can go. Might try a teflon one next. Just have to wait for back to heal so can bend again…please be soon, am dying to ride. Glad to know i am not the only one who has ran into this issue. Don't really notice it when riding with a full face helmet, but man is it annoying when riding with my open face.

Had the same problem, solved it by wraping a small zip tie around the front mounting posts. Takes the slop out and quiets things down.

    Default This clears it up

I used the inner tube from a regular peddle bike and cut rings the same width as the inside of the rollers, basically a rubber washer between the roller and the grab hooks of the backrest. You have to remove the rollers in order to do this so I also used the same material to make rubber washers to tighten up the gap between the roller and the metal washers on the bolt that holds the whole thing together and bingo it cleared up the rattle. I performed this in 2008 and replaced the rubber rings on the roller a few weeks ago, the other rubber washers are still fine.
    cheers

There is about 1/8" of space between washers and bushings. I ground about an 1/8" inch or so off of both bushings then put back together, using a thin black seal washer on the inside. No more horrible noise! Not sure why the factory made it that way? All good now.
