    Default New to the forum

    Hi everyone.

I just purchased a 2008 Raider S last week. My first cruiser type bike. I have been riding sport bikes for over 20 years. My last bike was a Honda CBR 1100 Blackbird. A sport touring type. Anyway I totaled it two summers ago and finally talked my wife into letting me on another bike. Luckily I wasn't going too fast when someone cut me off and I laid it down in traffic. I was smart enough to be wearing my Joe Rocket jacket, jeans, boots and full face helmet. Helmet saved my head and face, jacket saved my upper body, jeans were torn off at the knees and riding gloves off my hands. I did break my foot from flipping down the road and had road rash on hands and knees. Constant reminder of how lucky I am and it shows I am proof that protective gear works and will continue to wear it while riding my Raider. Anyway just a little back ground about me. I look forward to speaking with you all and enjoying my new ride as much as you. So far I think it is great and a lot more comfortable than any sport bike I have ever ridden. Maybe I will catch up to some of you on the road. Thanks for listening.

    Earl

Welcome to the forums. Good to hear that you weren't too banged up in that accident. Smart to wear your protective clothing.

    Enjoy your Raider.

    Welcome
I made the jump from a Hayabusa to the Raider . I really liked the Busa rode it 4 years, but I enjoy the Raider a lot more. HD's riders know not to mess with the sport bikes. It seems haven't learned that Raiders will beat them up also.

Takes a while to get used to the lower RPM motor. I hit rev limiter more than once at the begining
