Fixed. Did not run as well as before, and eventually sold to my brother, who was well aware of the issue and fixed it so that he rode it for quite a number of years thereafter.
It was the bike that made me a Yamaha fan. Honest and without pretentions. A go anywhere (on tar) anytime bike. One weakness. It developed a mean tank slap at around 170 kms per hour.
If middle age crisis means riding a Raider, it is OK with me

Just for the record. I placed my order and paid up in full, for a Yamaha Stryker 1300 Sissy Bar on Thursday, 12/07. They promised today that I should have it within the next two weeks. Please hold thumbs.
Black Sheep, are there any special fittings / cords that I need to purchase? Any recommendation of where and what type of luggage bag do you or any of my fellow SR's recommend?

R2D2 - trust you are happy with the purchase. I was going to tell you there will be support vehicles, but I knew you wanted the sissy bar.
Now you can lift me home when we get "gestenig"

Depending on the size of your luggage a medium, large or extra large cargo net and an adjusting bungie cord/s. I have a KTM tail bag for the luggage rack and a KTM top box soft bag - both are waterproof, have zipped expansion layers and look very snazzy in black with the KTM bright orange piping. I have yet to use them so I can't go ahead and recommend them - in fact I am still ruminating over how to best place and secure them.
Holding thumbs that your order comes through Rasa Dance.![]()

I did ask for a lift for my baggage! Your reply was that I had to stand in line.
Do you know what the Sissy Bar costs? Plenty money for a poor RD like me. (My daddy has no sugar!)
Anyway, from the feedback I got from BS, it does not even sound like a straight forward packing procedure. I was hoping that a bag would just slide over the bar - how simple / difficult can it be? If I honestly need a few (bungy) cords and a few cargo 'nets' then I could just as well have used my waterproof Outdoor Warehouse bags strapped with the same cords and nets to the hind seat.
Thank you for telling me about the support vehicle/s. I might just have to make use of it.
