    Default Help - Ideas please!!

OK - I took the rear wheel off, got a new tire put on, put the wheel back on jest fine. The rear fender was off. I took out a new pair of brake pads from the package, and one of them fell somewhere between the front of the tire and the swingarm - I can't FIND it!!!!!! I've done the bounce the bike till it is coming off the ground trick, the shake from side to side trick, the spotlight under the bike trick, the fingers everwhere I can reach trick, the look on the ground because maybe it rolled trick - HELP!!! Ideas - suggestions???

Likely it is hung up over the spring/shock assembly. Have to tried using compressed air to blow and dislodge the part?
If unable to get to it, you may have to remove the shock assembly to free it.

Thanks Chilly. I tried that last night in the dark with a worklight but I thought that my compressor was too weak (low CFM). My buddy Doug came over this morning and found it. It was stuck inside the rear fender support on the right side right above the Exup servo! I can't imagine how it could have gotten there. I did hear a boing when it disappeared, so it must have bounced up and into the slot. Million to one shot! I was able to go for a really nice ride on the new Avon Cobras (240 rear), and to flirt with the gorgeous blonde at the beach (pant, pant, gasp, gasp) . Thanks Chilly

Man, I hate it when I drop a small part and it disappears somewhere on the bike like it's a black hole in space.

I almost wonder if there are some sort of gremlins or such that hide stuff just to piss us off. I know I looked exactly in that place the night before, and I even ran my hand into the cracks, and there it was the next day ???!!!???. It's almost as if it was put there just to bug the %$#@ out of me! (which it DID) I am not saying I'm a believer - just that it sure would make sense in this case! LOL

    ain't it the truth.
and sometimes not even small stuff.
i had 2 bungee cords sitting on my bike last Wed night.
On Thurs morning I get ready to go to work ... can only find one bungee.
    what the flip??!!
I look everywhere .. no bungee.
I'm thinkin - the kids picked it up. But NO - they say not.

it's still missing - maybe got caught up inside my bike cover when
I took that off and dropped somewhere. Gotta find it this weekend.
but it is disturbing - cuz you don't want that bunjee snagging the
    wheels or a belt.

    crazy :-)

Update - found the bunjee inside my MC cover. The cover has elastic straps along the edges and they trapped the cord. Now I feel better :-)
It's not a good feeling when gear totally disappears inside your bike .
    Hahahaha !
