    Default SPOT Personal Tracker

I am in the process of planning a trip next year to Alaska. Normaly when traveling I would say I have cell coverage 95% of the time ... next year crossing through the Canadian wilderness and many parts of Alaska I know my coverage will be very sketchy or non-existent. If I were in the middle of nowhere it would be impossible to call for help and even if I could place a call how would I tell them "where" I was. I started to do a little research and found the SPOT Personal Tracker. I hve been playing with it for almost a week and have found it VERY accurate and no matter what some of the reviews say it was simple to set up and run! It marked my location down to the parking space I was in during dinner! I won't explain everything it does here in my post, you can check out their website for all the information and it's capabilities. Here is a picture of the unit and a screen shot of the map on one of my tests ... I think it's very cool.

If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything

    Got one.
Use it all the time when doing long distance rides.
    I agree with you - it's a cool device.
Could be a lifesaver in a real emergency.

I carry a bicycle for emergencies on long trips, or trips out of area/offroad. It has saved me once before.
