Default A Scene from Forest Gump!

Just for you RK, here is a picture from last years trip to the US, and as we were riding through Utah (the best State as its scenery is stunning) this was a scene in "Forest Gump" where many people were walking down the road, so we stopped and took this.

Default Kim and I loved it too!

We rode thru there in '08 and I took this shot at arm's length, as usual, just as she was telling me how beautiful Monument Valley was. Forrest stopped jogging unexpectedly there in the road and stood staring at the hills ahead and finally said "I think I go home now". Then he turned and just walked back to Alabama. Glad you both saw it first hand!

True, we took Hwy 70 west from Grand Junc, then done a left onto the 128. How glad are we that we did. The views around canyons was stunning. We done a bit of Arches park at Moab before heading south where we stopped at Mexican Hat, hence why we though Utah was the best riding for scenery!
We did stop at a ranch type place on the 128 for a drink, and they had a museum in there all about the films/movies that were made in the area.

Everyone should ride the 128 before they die shouldn't they.

Holy cow! That's along the river road between Cisco and Moab? I always thought it was Monument Valley.

I live an hour east of Grand Junction but have yet to make it down to Moab on my bike. They have a nice and big car show in May. Missed last year but want to make it this year.

I was thru there once many years ago. Helped a buddy move to Blanding. We took the river road on the way back. Remember it being pretty but that's all. Now I do HAVE to go this summer.

Hey so i see both bikes have saddlebag supports and detachable backrests installed? What brand of saddlebag supports did you guys put on? I just bought my raider and it comes with the backrest and i saw these on ebay, for the price they look ok.. any thoughts? (i would like to be able to use the saddlebag supports with the backrest on long trips)

pdiddy do you live in the Moab/Montecello/Blanding area or are you on the west side of Utah like 98% of the others?

I actually made it down to Moab a couple weeks ago. We took the river road down and I'd forgotten how beautiful it was. I know we'll be doing it again. One of the guys googleearthed a route that took us up into the lower portions of the LaSalle Mountains east of town on our way back. You pick up the road south of town and wind up and into the timber. Would have been prettier had the leaves been out on the aspens and oak brush. Ran into a couple of patches of snow too. The road comes out in Castle Valley about half way thru the river road canyon. Very nice and pretty ride. Can't wait to do it again.

The saddlebag supports are the original Yamaha ones that most of us have.
The backrest also is the standard Yamaha version which is mega money at around $600 including the rack. This is the quick release option, so can be removed easily.

    Hope this helps
