    This is one beautiful bike!

Stay tuned to this Stryker forum, we'll be introducing lots of cool stuff for this bike, as we will be receiving our own "Performance EDGE Stryker" in about one week.

Wide tire kits, chrome rims, air ride suspensions, frame neck covers, and much much more!

I saw two of these on the road when they had the press launch here in Austin and they looked great! I've been visting my local dealers but they haven't gotten any in yet :(

Well, after months of waiting, the area's first Stryker was delivered to our shop Thursday of last week.

Its reddish copper color, with metal flake. Color is very deep, with a beautiful smooth clear coat on top.

We test fit a chrome 18 x 8.5 Raider rear wheel, with a Metz 260mm tire on it in the arm. Lots of room on both sides of the tire using the stock arm. The rear fender on the Stryker does have internal fender stays that are part of the frame. The tire clears the internal fender stays, with about a credit card thickness of clearance on each side. (Looks like somebody at yamaha did their home work for sure)

We've got some plans here in the shop to do a 18 x 10.5 rear rim with a 300mm tire on it, and a contour rear fender with internal fender stays that will bolt to the stock steel frame.

The front rim on Stryker has a single disc braking set up. This would be a fantastic mod to Raiders, who want more exposure of the front rim, without commiting to a expensive billet (and heavy) front rim. We test fit a raider front rim on the bike, and both bikes do share the exact same front rim, axle, bearings, bearing spacers, and wheel spacers. The rotor bolt pattern is the same for the raider/stryker, so the front rim is interchangable between the two models.

Wide tire kits, custom contour rear fenders, air ride systems, raked triple trees, frame covers, side mount license plate bracket, a fully functional SAC, (and more) all are items on our full build with this new Yamaha model.

Good job to Yamaha for bringing the "Little brother" to the Raider, to the streets for 2011!

    Hey Matt,

I own a Raider and I'd like to have more of my front rim showing, is the difference going from a 2 disc setup to 1 very significant?

Hi Mark, I think that the single front disc stryker front rim would look awesome. I dont forsee any negative braking characteristics being evident with a single disc set up. I definately would recommend a braided brake line, and you make need to use a bit more pressure on the front brake lever in order to get the same stopping power that you may be used to with the Raider dual front rotor set up.

Ok, let me know what I can do to help with this conversion on your bike...

    Default exhast

I noticed that you cut down your stock exhast, how difficult was it to do that, and did you lose any power doing cutting it that short.

Well, our 18 x 10.5 rear rim is here in the shop, all mockups have been successful, now its time to remove the arm, and start cutting!

We will be making a custom jig to hold the arm, so that every single 300mm cut will be just like the first arm that Justin and I will do, (perfect!)

Kits will be available in stock finish, painted gloss black, and chrome....

300mm Metz tire, contour rear fender with LED run/turn/brake tail lights, and constructed internal fender stays...

When do you think you will have the side license plate mount fabbed...lol... I am dying to cut the extra crap off under the rear fender. I love how the 300mm tire looks. That might be in plans down the road. The exhaust and PC will be the first mod, but again that will take some time to save the cash up.

Such an awesome looking bike....yet somehow I just can't help but think that they designed that swingarm on a Friday afternoon, probably about 3:30 p.m. while ready to start the weekend.

Looks like a 2'x4' painted gloss black. That's it???

As I said, the rest of the bike looks awesome and my son hopes to buy one (black) when he returns from his USMC deployment.

Nothing to worry about, perfectly normal. It is a trait that has been with the 1300 drivetrain. Enjoy the Sh!t out of your new bike! Which color did you get?

I have a Raider and the clunk is just one of the hefty sounds you get to really like if you are anything like me. I love it when I am next to a cage at an intersection and that clunk relays to them the fact that this is one real piece of machinery.

    What a sound!

If middle age crisis means riding a Raider, it is OK with me
