Billy & Phyllis just had a Crop as well.

I sent this to Gi & Billy recently, seemed appropriate:

I get that all the time ( they look like goats ) They are Hair Sheep, They do not grow wool, just get a winter coat and it just sheds off when warm weather comes. No shearing. The males ( Rams) get really big horns and are hunted for trophies in some areas. They Are registered pure bred Painted Desert Sheep.

    Gi,

Good information, but what do you do with them? Do people eat them, or are they pets, or all of the above?

    Smile Sheep 101

They eat them, hunt the Rams for trophiesand are pets.

I raise them as pets and for Breeding stock only. Mine are hand raised and The Mothers take care of them and have plenty of milk, but I bottle feed them as a supplement so they get used to people, which makes it easier to handle when they get bigger and need to be medicated.
In the 3rd world countries most of their sheep are hair sheep, These sheep Painted Desert Sheep originate in the Hills of Iran, They were breed to other sheep which sport huge horns in Texas. The Rams get really big trophy quality horns. ( horns grow one inch a month.)
Right now I am up to my neck in Sheep, it is lambing season.
