Default Installing HID need help!!!!!

Hey Guys, I got alittle bit of a problem maybe one of you can help me out. I recently got a HID kit for my raider, its a simple plug and play kit but since the ballast doesnt fit in the headlamp fixture I ran some longer wires and mounted the ballast under the seat. But now for some reason when I started the bike the like doesnt come on. I unplugged the ballast and when i plugged it back i heard a buzzing sound coming from somewhere (not sure where). but anyways after a fews times a plugging it in and out it came on and stayed on fine. But then i turned the bike off and the light wouldnt come on again. i never actually had the bike running so Im not sure if I have to let it run for a few minutes in order for the light to come on. HELP PLS...LOL

Is the battery fully charged, does the bike crank and run?? if so then you are half way home. Go back and check your extentions for the ballast, make sure that the power and ground circuits don't have excessive voltage drop. I think that your problem may be in the circuit that you added. If not, let us know and I am sure that someone on this forum has the answer.

Start the bike. The headlight doesn't come on till after the motor is running.

I don't know about the other things but I do know the stock headlight does not come on until the engine is running either.

oops...my bad. I was confused and thought budzo's comment was made by the thread author.

PROBLEM FIXED...I originally cut the connecters on back of the bulb and added some wire to reach to the ballast that I mounted under the seat. ( that was were i went wrong) The store I bought it from told me the wires from the ballast to the bulb can not be cutt. So they placed the bulb for me free of charge and I ended up mounting the ballast on the neck of the bike ( u cant even tell its there) and all i had to run was power and ground. Done deal HID looks GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously thought I was looking at HID replacements for the raider already. Were you able to keep the High/Low feature with the kit? I have read about some kits that don't offer that, so bascially you lose the high beams..

My HID is made by cateye. There's a store down the street from me and that's all they sell is HID kits. It was only $58 bucks one year warranty. It kind of caught me off guard when he told me the price cause the cheapest I senn kits for was $120 and up. But I got the small ballast they even have it in black if u want and it works and looks great. If any of you guys are intrested I'll find out if they have a website.
