Probably going to take me 40 minutes to write this because the cuss words start coming pretty easy once ya get going. (350mi)

Bike has 350 mi on it. Was riding with the wife sunday, stopped at a red light in downtown portsmouth, had some Tom Petty (Break down) jamming on the cd player, looked over at the wife grinning ear to ear and head just a bobbing in the breeze feeling good as all get out. :b2b

Went to take a left from the light and did'nt give her enough gas or let out the clutch to fast (still getting used to new bike), she stalled and over she went in the blink of an eye onto the crashbar (thank god).:opps:

I was very embarrased with a bunch of cars behind me, finally got her up and went to a parking lot with now 351miles on her :banghead:

Well I have a small scrape on the crash bar, and the very back tip of the left saddlebag is scratched as well as a tiny mark under the floorboard. To say I was upset is putting it very mild , I then slammed my helmet on the ground which put a nice crack across the top of it so now I need a new one of those as well...BONUS:chill:

I thought about having the bag repainted but then I was thinking ya know what, it's not that big and you can't see it unless your on the ground looking up plus it reminds me that it's now officially mine. :idunno:

Ride safe and be careful guys although my mishap was minor it could have been much worse, especially since the car behind me had to jam on his brakes to avoid rear ending me. :tour:

Sorry to hear your trouble but at least you are okay and didn't get hurt. Its another reminder we need to be careful.

Sorry to hear of the damage NH Raider.
But as previous post says as long as you're OK!

Not being funny, but I run Voyager Bolt-On Trike Kits on both my 'Glides.
Back in the '80's used to have a 1200 'Glide, then a 1340. Wouldn't have dreamed of using a Trike Kit on them, but I'm a bit older (and wiser) now.

I'm in Ireland, so back then the red 1200 ElectraGlide was a handful in the plentiful rain, and the white 1340 ElectraGlide rarely came out in the rain at all. Now with my stabiliser wheels (LOL) on the Voyager Trike Kit, I don't care about the rain or wind at all.

Stormy, windy and rainy, I recently did a 250 mile trip one Sunday morning at 80mph on the motorway, Voyager 'Trike' steady as a rock, the BatWing Fairing and screen, and Ultra Legshields kept me out of the weather, and 'Gun'n'Roses' rockin' on the stereo keepin' me up at 80+. (About three and a half hours including a petrol and coffee stop.)

If I'd been on a 'solo' the buffeting crosswinds would have had my heart leaping out of my chest and it woulda been decidely hairy at 50mph (been there, done that in the 'October Gales'.) I never take the Bolt-On/Off kits off now. I much prefer it as a 'trike'. Easier too in town, and in the stop/start traffic after road race meetings here etc, and when carrying wife or kids as pillion its much 'safer'.

But each to his own, that's what 'riding' is all about!
You take care.
And as we say in Belfast, 'Keep 'er lit !'
Cheers

I hope to get to Ireland someday, beautiful country, when is the best time to avoid a lot of rain?

At night, when you're in bed ! (LOL) :roflblack:

No seriously, our 'summer weather' I suppose is from May thru September. Pot luck what we get. Sometimes (rarely) a good dry summer with little rain, but I only seem to remember them from my school and college days in 60's/70's. More recently, seems to rain a lot and we only get one or two good weeks out of the lot.

In fact, I was out on the UltraGlide Trike yesterday (Easter Monday) and had an enjoyable run with some trikin' buddies. Woke up today, and cursed the damn rain, and this damn green wet frickin' country. Why didn't my ancestors go somewhere warm and dry to live.

The main problem is on most normal days when you start off on a ride in the morning in the dry, it could well be lashing buckets of rain, before you return home. Not good bikin', trikin' weather.

But hey, we have a temperate climate, little snow, not crazy cold, never really hot, no monsoons, few thunderstorms, no tornadoes or hurricanes, so it's not all bad, just generally 'damp' more than I'd like it to be! - Why do you think it's so 'green'? The rain!

Current rate of $1.40 US, to £1 UK, or E1 Euro, is in your favour! Go for it!Last year at over $2 US to £1 UK, I imported three V8 Bikes. Wasn't able to get to Daytona in person for family reasons, but thought the exchange rate too good for me not to take advantage of it. Thank heavens for E-bay!

Now 300+bhp V8 Bikes in the wet that's a whole other ballgame. I've already got two bolt-on Trike Kits nearly completed. Don't think we get enuff dry days not to trike 'em.

(If you make it over, you can always borrow one!)
Cheers

WOW very nice, I especially like that blue HOG. I never heard of those but will look into em, what do they hold like 10gl and get about 15MPG? I'll bet all that power feels awesome though.

I,m glad I,m Irish

The Irish and the French

The French President is sitting in his office when his telephone rings.

'Hallo, Mr. Sarkozy!' a heavily accented voice said. 'This is Paddy down at the Harp Pub in County Clare , Ireland .. I am ringing to inform you that we are officially declaring war on you! We voted to reject the Lisbon treaty!'

'Well, Paddy,' Sarkozy replied, 'This is indeed important news! How big is your army?'

'Right now,' says Paddy, after a moment's calculation, 'there is myself, me Cousin Sean, me next door neighbour Seamus, and the entire darts team from the pub. That makes eleven!'

Sarkozy paused. 'I must tell you, Paddy, that I have 100,000 men in my army waiting to move on my command.'

'Begoora!' says Paddy. 'I'll have to ring you back.'

Sure enough, the next day, Paddy calls again. 'Mr. Sarkozy, the war is still on. We have managed to get us some infantry equipment!'

'And what equipment would that be Paddy?' Sarkozy asks.

'Well, we have two combines, a bulldozer, and Murphy's farm tractor.'

Sarkozy sighs amused. 'I must tell you, Paddy, that I have 6,000 tanks and 5,000 armoured personnel carriers. Also, I have increased my army to 150,000 since we last spoke.'

'Saints preserve us!' says Paddy. 'I'll have to get back to you.'

Sure enough, Paddy rings again the next day. 'Mr. Sarkozy, the war is still on! We have managed to get ourselves airborne! We have modified Jackie McLaughlin's ultra-light with a couple of shotguns in the cockpit, and four boys from the Shamrock Bar have joined us as well!'

Sarkozy was silent for a minute and then cleared his throat. 'I must tell you, Paddy, that I have 100 bombers and 200 fighter planes. My military bases are surrounded by laser-guided, surface-to-air missile sites. And since we last spoke, I have increased my army to 200,000!'

'Jesus, Mary, and Joseph!' says Paddy, 'I will have to ring you back.'

Sure enough, Paddy calls again the next day. 'Top o' the mornin', Mr. Sarkozy! I am sorry to inform you that we have had to call off the war.'

'Really? I am sorry to hear that,' says Sarkozy. 'Why the sudden change of heart?'

'Well,' says Paddy, 'we had a long chat over a few pints of Guinness and packets of crisps, and we decided there is no fookin' way we can feed 200,000 prisoners .....
